All 14 wheels? With 19s? How did he afford tires?

My friend has one. its an RT though. All he did was air intake, exhaust, and a boost controller and hes running 13.8 at our local track. If its not an RT, there is a lot of work to make it go fast

Alright well I tink were going to sell it. the problem is the motor is the VR 4 but the model is a ls or somthing. So no boost or turbos or anything. So were just going to sell it and buy an diffrent MUSCLE car.

20lbs of boost will make just about anything go.

Then again 20lbs of boost will make just about any stock bottom end scatter >.<

If I remember correctly w/out looking back, the major magazines placed the 3000zx slightly slower in the 1/4 than the 3000GT in all their testing even beeing about 350-400lbs. lighter, but I may be wrong, it's been quite a few years. When I first bought mine completely stock ran a 13.6@102. Intake & exhaust ran 13.3, then added a ($20) manual boost controller and ran a best of 12.89. I put about $1,500 into larger turbos and fuel upgrades and am now in the 11's full weight & still tuning it out. They are fat pigs, but they do move w/ only 182 C. inch. are you saying the new mustangs are fat slugs at less than 100lbs. from the 3000GT? Or the new Camaros even beeing heavier?

Your friend should sell his car. They are not cpable N/A, but if you want to take a look at what it might take, search 3si.org/forum for "N/A upgrade bible" it explains it all. Most just sell them and go w/a vr-4. They have supercharger kits, and it's possible to TT them, hell some have gone 500+hp on the shitty SOHC engines, but cost more than just selling it and buying a vr-4, then you also get AWD rather than keeping wrong wheel drive.

I joined this site because I have a N/A Mustang sitting in my back yard I know nothig about, and will be searching for info. The motor was setup w/ a supercharger but the guy sold it, along w/ whatever he was using to control fueling. Mustangs are all new to me so I'm starting from square one. I'd like to turbo it at some point, so I will be gathering info from this site, hopefully it will be a decent car once it's boosted.

I don't know much about them except the active aero/4 wheel steering in some models is cool. They are heavy as shit though and I pulled a car on a TT Stealth (basically same car) in my bolt on GT fox last week.

Eh, they could have done away w/ them, well they did eventually on the 2nd gens. I guess I never appreciated being able to roll out of a corner balls deep and have the rear end glide right back in where it needs to be untill I drove a car w/out it. You can certainly feel it. beeing small surface areas on the damper and spoiler, I wouldn't think it would provide much downforce untill speeds over 100. Just extra weight that they could have done w/out.

I've learned most of what I need on the 3000gt's, now I need to learn about the Mustangs.
I think I recognize the car... does it happen to have a Garrett GT42R?

They are all around good performance cars & look great in my opinion. Sadly though as far as raw nasty HP they are far behind the american muscle, you can only push 3.0 liters so far, but I guess that wasn't their intention, beeing a grand touring car, it gets decent gas mileage, the suspension & exhaust adjusts for sport mode from the push of a button, and it has a large gas tank for long travel.

nah it was a borg warner. i dunno, all i know is it was bigger than my head and flew well over 200mph easy. Then one day, he cranked the boost, threw some e85 in and raced it till the motor blew. Parted it out and started a new one haha. Of course on purpose.

Must have some money if he can afford to blow one up on purpose. Where did he take it to go over 200? Final gear is about 215 IIRC. E85 is amazing shit, I've been running it for a while now, 105 octane for less than the price of pump gas, clean burning and a few stations in town carry it.
