My friends 89 GTA

I was wondering if anyone here could help me. A friend of mine just put a chip in his 89 GTA and now it is running bad at idle and and he has driven the car for awhile afterwards. Anyone know what he needs to do to correct his issues???

Did he buy the chip new for his mods or did he buy it second hand made for someone elses car? If its not made to work with the mods that are on his car, that could be a big problem and he might be better off putting the old one back in.

Thanks for the response. The only mod on his car is a flowmaster muffler otherwise he is running stock.

He went back to the stock chip. I told him make other modifications and stop trying to gain horse power from a chip. He said It's hard to find parts at a good price. I told him buy a stang..lol

Sounds like he just wanted a quick gain. If he matched the mods from the original owner of the chip it would probably work out alright but thats te only way I could see it happening.
