Well, depending on the definition*, I drive one, so I'd say they're not all bad.

*If you go by the definition that all japanese sports/economy cars are rice I do. If you go by the "exterior mods with no performance upgrades" then no I don't.

Not only is that a heavy SN95, but most imports aren't that light. Sure, my Corolla is only about 2100, early Miatas are about the same, CRXs can be *really* light (1600 lbs), but most everything else weighs in at about 2800 lbs. If you look at a simlar year, similar drivetrain car (i.e. Mustang and 240SX) the only difference in weight comes from the engine and stronger drivetrain components to hold up to the greater amount of torque.

i think thats a little bit inaccurate.. correct me if im wrong, but arent all corollas 4 doors? shelby cobras only weigh in at around 2100-2200 lbs so i highly doubt a corolla is anywhere near that light :p

Heh - nope. I have a 1984 Corolla SR5, which is a RWD 2-door coupe. You could get 2-door RWD Corollas at least until 1987, when they stopped making the AE86 chassis cars. After that, you could still get a 2 door in the AE92 chassis, but that was FWD. In the RWD chassis, you could get a GTS model, which had a twin cam fuel-injected motor, and optional LSD.

Mine's just a carb'd SOHC.

I think you're right about the 4-door thing once they hit the AE101 chassis, which would be in the early 90s. Since then they've been boring 4-door econoboxes.

How the hell is that possible... never seen a SN95 that heavy, hell not even the new Shelby Mustang touches the 4K mark...

I really am against on-line arguing and such, but dude, there is no way your car weighs 4500 lbs. it weighs 3450 lbs +- 150 lbs or so. Before you argue any further, first go weigh your car on a scale somewhere, then come back and tell us we're wrong. But we're not. In fact, if you go weigh it and the scale says 4500 lbs, go to another scale, because that one is broken.
I'm a truck driver, and I've been weighing stuff for a living for almost 20 years, and before that I towed cars on a tilt & load for a living. I've delivered cars to the scrap yard & gotten paid by weight, so I know what cars weigh.
p.s. Take all the cinder blocks out of the trunk first.

Unless 4500 ponuds is the same as 3400 pounds. lol j/k man. Go weigh your ride.

CRX 1600 lbs? what? No. CRXs are no lighter than a 92-95 Civic LX, which is around 2400 lbs-ish.

My car weighs 2612 without me in it.
