351 block casting number
I pulled a 351 out of an 85 ltd. The casting numbers are D9AE 6015 ed 15 and 2C18. I gather the d9ae means 79 auto engine and the 6015 is the part number for the engine block. from thereon i cant figure out what the numbers mean. Also, I think this engine was the original but wonder why an 85 would have a 79 block in it. did this 79 block design stay with newer ford cars? anyway, i've been trying to solve these questions for quite a few days and cant get past the 6015. Can someone point me in the right direction about this? i sure would be thankful.
