Help, Honda Pilot, in the ditch, got water in it, now no start.
Well my mother borrowed my wife's Honda Pilot last night and drove it into a ditch, not hard, she just missed the driveway to the grocery store because it was really flooded right there at the time.
Anyway, water up to the top of the bumper, nearly into the grill. Pulled the intake hose to check for hydrolock and I think we're in the clear there. Saw some water in the intake, but didn't look like nearly enough to hydrolock it, just some small amounts collected in the grooves of the intake pipe and a few droplets here and there.
Anyway now it won't start. Tried jumping it off but nothing. Even with the jump if you turn the key it sounds like it tries to spin but almost immediately the lights and everything go black until you let off.
Well I just went out a while ago and tried again, this time I held the key for a second after it went black and then heard a popping noise. I'm guessing this is some relay or solenoid frying out. Well now when I turn the key all I get is a rapid set of clicks, but the lights don't dim.
Ideas guys? My wife is really distraught over this and I need to get her back on the road. Any help appreciated.
