351 block casting number
I pulled a 351 out of an 85 ltd. The casting numbers are D9AE 6015 ed 15 and 2C18. I gather the d9ae means 79 auto engine and the 6015 is the part number for the engine block. from thereon i cant figure out what the numbers mean. Also, I think this engine was the original but wonder why an 85 would have a 79 block in it. did this 79 block design stay with newer ford cars? anyway, i've been trying to figure this out for quite a few days and cant get past the 6015. does anyone know what the ED 15 and the separate 2c18 numbers mean? i sure would be thankful.
Also, on the back left side of the block there's a stamped # CB179327 |
