I think Jeep is going to mom van than trail rated vehicles. Looks nice though.

EDIT: I'm getting sad seeing how all vehicles are becoming road queens. What happened to buying a truck to beat the shit out of it, and buying a car for everything in between. Buy a Jeep you're offroad. Now a days, most cars are being beat to hell, trucks & hummers and jeeps have big rims and low pro tires, lower than my car.

Shits backwards.

Looks like they've focused more on luxury than trail.

Where's HMUSN when you need him.

Fixed for you

Its a bad ass SUV, especially with the 5.7L hemi, but for offroad its nothing compared to the wrangler. It will do better than something like a CRV, but its far from a beast off road. I could see getting the wife one for here DD, but i'll keep by rubicon for the real trails.

The advertising for them is very catchy.

If new trucks and jeeps didn't cost $30k-$50k I'm sure people would beat on them a little. If I dropped that much money on a vehicle the last thing I would do is go hitting the trail with it.

From what I see, it is more for the on road guys. It can still go off road and do well, but it is made to be comfortable to do so in the process. This is not something off roaders really want. We enjoy the bouncing around part and having to fight to get over an steep hill part. We could install airbag that give us 2 feet of clearance if we wanted to. It has some cool technology, but I am not a big fan of it for hitting the trails. I would be afraid to scratch it.

yea i agree about scratching it. It would not really go "off road" to much it would be for the wife as a DD. Im just looking for a good safe suv that has a descent off road capability if i need it to.

Well to be honest Most SUV's offer half decent performance off road. I understand you wanting it to be safe. This rig basically won't be used off road other than a dirt trail once in a while I take it?
Anything that is a 4x4 can offer that. I mean, I stand by my Jeeps, but you can find something much more comfortable for the price of a new Jeep Cherokee for the wife that can hit soft trails without a problem.

Yeah, it still depends on your style & type of car you'd like to drive. But this one looks nice though.

That is indeed the truth for enthusiasts. Once you buy your first one, there will usually be one in the driveway no matter what down the line.
