What is my liability as a car seller?

I just sold my car. The man who bought it called me after driving for an hour saying he was having problems that were not evident when I drove it or when he test-drove it. I told him he could turn around and bring it back. He chose to continue the rest of the way on his 2.5 hour trip. He called later to say he was dropping it off at a mechanic's and will call later to "work something out". Do I owe this guy anything? Why should I take it back now when he chose to continue driving it after I offered to take it back? Taking back a car that he further damaged will take away any re-sale or trade-in value for me.

As long as there was full disclosure, you likely have no liability. If there was no warranty expressed, you likely have no liability. If you have a conscious that's eating at you, you may have a liability. Hope that helps...

Sold as is. If it was me and the problems didn't exist to your knowledge when you had the car, I wouldn't pay a dime.

I have to agree here. I'm not trying to talk bad about the guy, but for all you know he might be trying to scam you out of some of the money he paid. If i bought a car and I was driving away and it had issues. I would of turned right around. Then again the guy could be telling the truth.

What kind of issues was he saying it was having?

He doesn't get shit. People know what they're getting into when they purchase used. I just think he's making something up to try and get you to pay him cash for a phantom repair and make some money out of it.

Its not your responsibility anymore, there was no implied warranty so hes fucked.
