Still working, but the hood, front 1/4 panels, fenders, and front driver and passenger door are all wetsanded and polished. I'd estimate about 13 hours of work are left. I pulled her out of the garage I was using because I had definitely overstayed my welcome. hahaha. But the weather has been fantastic, and if it turns bad, I've got a cover I can slip over the top.

She's not perfect...there are a few spots up close where you can see slight blemishes and imperfections, but for $100...it came out pretty damn good. She's really got a mirror finish in for the most part and from 15 feet away looks like a brand new car. These are just iPhone pictures, I'll see if I can't find our digital camera and take some higher quality pictures later on.

SOLD
as of this morning for $1,350.

My girlfriend's Dad actually bought it off me because he's going to buy Lex a new Jeep and then turn this one into a rock crawler. He's tearing out the crapped out motor in there now and replacing every suspension component.

Total profit $310.

Lex is headed back to California for the Summer and they decided to drive out two days ago and are towing it back home today.

WTF?!?! You are the first person to ever neg rep me dude! I kept it in the family man! I'm probably marrying this girl so the Jeep is staying around! He just found out that I was thinking about selling it because of the motor issues and offered me $1,400 for it. I said "$1,350, you're family" and he came out two days ago to pick it up. I'm fully planning on buying another XJ. I need to find another sub $800 XJ to fix up and I can keep trading up with them. They're good cars to flip and turn profits on. I'd like to keep trading till I can get myself a really nice 96 or newer XJ.

I'm headed down to California in two weeks and I'll take pictures of the progress he's made (trust me...knowing Lex's Dad and Jeeps, it should have a good amount done by then).

Honestly, had it not been for the engine issues I incurred in the past month or so, I was looking to either just keep it, or look to make about $1,300-$1,500 off of it. It currently has a burnt valve and a cracked head gasket; the whole motor is basically beyond worth repairing from a financial standpoint for me. It was either sell it, or not be able to get anything out of it again if I ever got in a bind and needed to sell it. She was burning through a quart of oil almost every 50 miles. It's going to a reeally good home now and I'm excited to watch what is about to happen to her. It's all stuff that I no longer had the time or money to do. Jeeps are a hobby for Lex's father so it's 100% worth the time and money for him. Two things I just didn't have.

looked pretty good, i guess you were sort of in a bind to sell it but, looks like you put 100 hours of more of work (this includes working on it, getting parts, and research) probably more.. thats 3 dollars an hour so basically i'm disappointed you sold it, but atleast you got to finish your project and looks like it turned out good
