Can anyone help me??? Im guessing i need to replace my rear axle seals in my 1997 F150 4X4. I pulled the rear drum and there is what looks like axle grease everywhere. The wheel cylinder is dry. How do i do these seals? Need help asap before i get hit with snow. Thanks

its an easy job. Pull off your diff cover, with the wheels off push the axles in one at a time so you can remove the c clip that holds the axle in place and then you can pull the axle right out of the tube ( same for the other side). With the axles out you can just pop the old seals out with a screw driver or what ever works for you. I used a peice of wood and a hammer to put the new ones in but there are seal drivers you can buy. Then put it back together. The only real thing you have to watch here is that you don't rotate the drive shaft while you axles are out, because you spider gears will fall out and then you will have a great time tring to get thows back in. if you google it you will get loads of info and pics on that job.
