car wont start


if i let my car siit for over an hour it will not start.. the battery and alternator are good and the starter.. i dont know what it is??

Also more description on the problem. Do you turn the key and absolutely nothing happens? Does it crank but not turn over? Does it crank, turn over, and then die? Details are key if you want any useful reponses.

depending on the car the voltage regulator could be bad.had that problem with my mark when i got it 3years ago plus a crappy battery.

If it doesn't crank, you probably have a bad starter. Also, check your wiring. Sometimes, when I start my car, it'll just click and everything dies. I just have to pop the hood and wiggle the wiring around. I should get that fixed soon, but I'm poor and lazy. Also, load test your battery. It might read 12v, but under load it might drop to 9 or worse. If it keeps on cranking over and over, I'd check out the fuel system. My Jeep did this and it just needed a fuel pump.

I have to ask, how do you know what his car looks like? He didn't post any pictures and there's nothing in his garage. Also, there's plenty of other it could have trouble starting instead of just alternator and battery.
