1995 Mercury Cougar XR-7 4.6 w/ T-45

Hey there everyone, I'm new to MM and a Mercury(Ford) Owner Well I had a '95 4R70W that came stock with the car up until it started to have problems getting into 3rd and OD then I decided to do a T-45 swap into my Cougar. I finished the swap two weeks ago and went to drive the car home. I bought the tranny for $200 bucks off of craigslist. Seems like a big mistake, I have first gear, no second, third, or fourth. Fifth does work, and reverse grinds.

So far the best I can think of, from knowing the T-45s is that 3rd and 4th must be the shift fork for me to not have either gear and it's a known weakness of the T-45. Reverse I think is just user error and I need to adjust my hydraulic Slave cylinder's rod. As for 2nd gear I have no clue, I'm guessing maybe a bad synchro or maybe the fork for 1-2 as well.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated I'm in the Virginia Beach area and I think I'm probably the only MN-12 4.6 5 speed cougar in the area haha. I'm also part of the TCCoA car club.

There's at least a few of us over at ford-trucks.com, too. I'm "White Max" over there.

Apparently it's hard to get help with a T-45 over here, too.
