Truth! Keep it and work it man. Drop a LSX in the bitch and make the haters really hate. I got my notch for 1k. It needed a trans - that was it. I got a trans for 500$ and I've been drifing it ever since. I have been upgrading and replacing suspension, drivetrain and trim pieces over time. When everything but the engine and trans is to my liking, they will get upgraded. (I dont want a powerful car that can't stop or handle for shit) A fox notch is the ugliest of them all but it is also the most fun and cheapest car to operate that I've ever had. Don't piss your 1500 bucks away by taking it to the dump. Sell it or fix it up. I didn't know crap about this stuff when I first started driving but I would be damned if I was going to pay anyone else work on my stuff when all I had to do was learn how to do it. |

An 84? Serious?
At the minimum go LT1 like the above reply said. I had a 95 Z28 automatic, headers and full exhaust, CAI with 2.73 gears and did 13.5@101. If I recall, I never had a major problem with it in 5 years and 80K miles of owning it. I think you can get one, a real nice one for about 5 or 6 grand.

this thread is IMPOSSIBLE to follow with all this nonsense. the 80s camaro motors do blow, you will to to change out the cam, pistons, heads and efi for a carburator. then its a normal unrestricted ungoverned 70s 350 which is probably the most capable small block of all time, good for over 100hp.
I hope you got a fourth gen lt1 or LS1 those are amazing cars and spanked the 2000 mustangs which is why everyone had to modify those stangs to keep up. and why ford tricked chevy into building the camaro to beat the 2005 4.6 and not the 5.0. to the OP what car did you buy?? if you let me know the specs i can help you out with some suggestions, as i own a 73 camaro and am totally a chevy AND ford guy, they are the only companies i would buy from and are fairly similar and would be much less without each other. |

This thread was entertaining. Not all Chevy's are bad, but you need a LS1 at minimum

LS1's are fast as shit. But I don't like them. Yeah the power is nice, but I'm not as comfortable in a camaro as I am in a mustang. The rude quality, smoothness, and interior just make me feel comfortable when I'm driving. Not to mention my car drops the panties.
