03 Civic Hybrid

Tranny problem.

It is not shifting into 5th gear/overdrive whatever you want to call it.

I dont think the tranny fluid has ever been flushed

163k miles on her.

Tranny fluid was brown.....like oil.....

<--- serious

o2 sensor just went out to.

Tranny fluid appeared to be low but forgot to check it while it was running.....

Advice on this situation?

I thought about having it flushed but then it might break up the gunk and not shift at all....

It's my dads car, just trying to help him out.

Nah don't change the tranny fluid. If u do you're not going to have a transmission for too long.

Thats what I thought, didn't know if anyone had any advice.

Looking for another tranny now, if I can find one cheap I can change this one out.
