SRT-4 Skittle!

Hey guys, Im about ready to start looking for an Srt-4 neon! Something to replace my truck. Have no real use for it like I thought I would and looking to get into a smaller, newer car.

Is there anything I should be looking for on these cars? Is there a better year for them? Anything to try and avoid? Issues they have? Im not dead set on purchasing one YET, but they've had my eye since they came out.

Thanks for any responses.

Good luck is all I can say. 8/10 have probably been severely ragged out from high school kids.

I had an 05 Srt4 and traded it in for an 05 Mustang GT. Its a kids car mostly and if you want to mod the Srt4 you will be always fixing another part. And besides they don't make them anymore either. They had replaced them with the girly Caliber.

The first year 2003 didn't have LSD and had the lowest HP from the factory.
04-05 had more HP (not much like 15 maybe) and they came with LSD transmissions.
So aim for an 04 or newer. Keep in mind I'm pretty sure they all had a motor mount issues...
Why not just get a Evo or Sti. They were the direct reason the SRT-4 didn't make it.
AWD more power and 13's out of the box. SRT-4 would run 14's from the factory.

My friend just bought an 04 SRT4. He says he wish he would have waited and found an 05 because it has an adjustable suspension or something...idk not sure if that's true or not

If you want a nice running car that looks good and in good condition buy my car .. Its a Mazdaspeed 6 all wheel drive 2.3 turbo 275 hp full leather and 6 speed manual. Car is in nice shape and is still adult with 4 doors.. The only issue with the car is the title is rebuilt, Mazda replaced the motor and trans with about 26k on the car and I bought it a month later. These cars a good option for what your looking for.. Shoot me an email if you have questions or interested. here is a pic

i had an srt-4 and loved it....wish i woulda never got rid of it. motor mounts can be cheaply fixed for $25, or perfectly for under 200. With a tune, motor mounts, a downpipe and a set of slicks, you can easily be low 13s to high 12s...throw on some spray and youre in the low 12s high 11s...

Drove an SS/TC when they first came out and the car is impressive for sure. But I'd imagine you could find a used Evo 8 or 9 for a decent price and be better off all the way around.

We are just tossing out suggestions, but what is it that you like/want/need in a car?

Nice car! I had a regular 6 and loved it, similar color too. How is the exhaust? I heard of a guy who put 3 different exhausts/mufflers on it finally sold it because he couldn't get it to sound good.

OP- buy that car!
