The Focus is under the knife...
...getting a new transmission with Torsen LSD, 4.06 gear, new synchros, new slave cylinder, and Exedy stage 2 clutch (upgrading from stage 1). The transmission is assembled and ready to go in the car. I have the old trans dropped out and the new one waiting to go in. I'm leaving in a few to go finish it up and have it on the road today. I can't wait to try out that LSD and gear. It's going to put me at the top of 4th in the 1/4.

I forgot my camera so no pics of the actual install.
I plan to get some videos of the car in action.stage 2 cerametallic 3pok clutch = ![]() LSD = ![]() 4.06 gear = ![]() heat treated gears, chromoly synchros, and forged output shaft = indestructable + ![]() Here's the website pics of said parts. ![]() ![]() The car drives a ton better now. I don't know what I've been missing my whole life not having a LSD. I can't open it up yet as the clutch has a 500 mile break-in period but once that's over, I'm going to put this trans through a torture test.

Wow, I didn't know what I was missing before I had the LSD. It's like a night and day difference.

The LSD enables both drive wheels to spin together so no more one wheel peels. Also, before the LSD the car would corner pretty decently. Now with the LSD pulling both wheels equally, the car seems to pull you around the turn and aggressively. I love it. I was at the bottom of a icy gravel road last night that was probably 70% iced over. I got one tire in gravel and the car pulled right up the hill without a single issue. The LSD kept both front wheels pulling together so as long as one tire had traction, both tires would keep pulling and not get stuck. Beforehand, as soon as the other tire touched ice, it would have spun and the car would've been stuck.
I can tell the difference with the 4.06 gear over the 3.82 gear I had stock. Highway cruising rpm is only 200-250rpm higher than before, and I can notice the stronger pull in 2nd - 4th gears. It feels like a whole new car and drives so much better. I thought it was great before but this has just blown my mind.

Lysergic Acid Diethylamide
vs Limited Slip Differential Let's go with both and see how trippy this ride really gets!

Everyone on the Contour site LOVES their LSD's. I'd love to get one, but i'm not putting down near enough power to make it worth it. You still gonna let me drive it a Cecil if we ever meet up down there?
![]() How's the torque steer?

![]() So you dont notice any difference with the torque steer? worse? Gotta be nice knowing your trans is built to handle the power now

The torque steer is a little worse but easily corrected.
It is nice knowing that the trans is practically indestructable.
