... I don't known if they're just there to help them put it on a trailer... or what it's for.

it's for race applications. they do it on mustangs as well too.
that way if the car stalls or breaks they can tow it off the strip in a hurry rather than taking 20 mins of other ppls track time.

There are a lot of weird style habits with the honda crowd like the tow hook. Its all visual...
Back to SOHC VTEC. 2000 Si, the y8 makes just under 130 hp becuase its just a mildly setup motor meant to go on for 300K miles. the VX's and HX's with 40+ mpg ratings are for gas milleage (The VX uses Vtec-E, which IS a milleage conscious vtec setup that keeps one of the 2 intake valves closed at low rpm, then switches to a dual valve, mild lobe, and finally goes to more aggressive lobe for passing power) I have a y8 (head, on a z6 block) I'm making 144whp/122wtq which is more then your DOHC VTEC B16 is making (and more tq then it will ever make, but thats thanks to the longer stroke) thats with a stock unpoted head, and a crower 2 cam. Its a mild build. compression, mild cam, intake, header, exhaust and tune. I have a ported head with crower 3 cam and a few other things in the garage going on soon. I'd like to see 155whp/130wtq with that. This is in a 2100 pound (thats with no weight reduction!) 1995 civic hatch CX. |

Thats nice, but well maintained stock Si's will put down 145ish to the wheels. If I could afford to supercharge it, I'd be putting down 195ish to the wheels, plus tuning and the rest of my bolt ons.
Congrats on the faster car, but I'm more interested in modifying my car with what I have here awaiting and then turning my attention solely to my house. |

Not bad. I don't like the wheels. Car would look better with a black rim imo.
