The Total 2000 Si Thread.
I know I've talked about my car, and some of you have even asked about it. Makes me feel important. So um, I want to dedicate this thread to my car and your thoughts, questions, etc.
The basics: Engine Type: B16a2 Engine Size: 1.6L, 1598 cc (tiny, I know) Power/Torque: 160 hp @ 7600, 111 ft lbs @ 7000 rpm, Redline: 8000 rpm. Transmission: S4C 5 speed manual transmission; 4.10 FD, OD in 5th. Chassis style: EM1 Years Produced: 1999-2000 Colors: Flamenco Black Pearl, Milano Red, & Electron Blue Pearl Drivetrain: Open Differential FWD I bought this car for two reasons; My brother had a red 2000 model, the first time I drove it (at 17) I was like wow this is clean. The other is the fact that I could not for the life of me find a 1994-2001 Acura Integra GSR for sale at any lot, anywhere. I searched quite possibly every single used lot in Fort Wayne. I've owned it since September 29th, 2003. On that day I topped the speed out at 128 mph. I could have gone more but a hard corner was coming up on I469 and I was peeing myself at how unstable the car feels at that speed. Overall this car has taken a lot of abuse, 8000 rpms of revving goodness means a lot of wear and tear, but nothing has mechanically gone wrong with the engine. Problems over the past 3.5 years: The interior radio antenna was bad when I bought it, and my passenger lock stopped working 2 months later. Both were repaired under warranty as they should have been taken care of (well the antenna) prior to buying it. As of right now I have a long standing CEL chillen out on my dashboard from an overworked and almost dead O2 sensor. Oddly enough the car still gets 25 mpg city/hwy combined, sometimes more sometimes less. The car is actually parked in my garage with a frozen drivers side rear caliper. I actually should have seen this coming. I would hear strange rattling/grinding over the past 4 years while I used to deliver pizzas, and it just got worse in the past week or so. Well now it's just flat out grinding it down to nothing. Bad piston, bad caliper. But really, it drives great still. Smooth, all the way up to 8k. Modifications installed as of 4.27.07; Injen Cold Air Intake CTR Replica rear-upper strut tower brace Yokohama AVS ES100 ultra performance summer tires ICE installed as of 4.27.07; Kenwood KDC receiver/cd player (I HATE this piece of shit, by the way...) Kenwood KDC 6 cd changer Kenwood 6.5" speakers up front Kenwood 1/4" tweeters in the doors Blaupunkt 6x9 speakers out back Audiobahn 10" 600w sub with custom enclosure SPL Series II 400w single channel amplifier Upcoming/Uninstalled but purchased Modifications; DC Sports 4-1 header Rywire O2 sensor replacement Skunk2 dual bend shift rod (forget name) contoured shift knob Brembo rotors all around Hawk HPS brake pads all around Megan Racing undercar Hbrace Megan Racing rear LCAs 2000 GSR camshafts Ebay 'diamond pattern' non-marked grille (replaces current with the H symbol on it) Autometer Dual gauge pod for an Autometer oil pressure gauge, I was going to boost it but decided to really stop modding it so I'll have to sell the boost gauge I got for another one. Autometer shift light with 7600 rpm pill. (will install this with a switch to turn it on/off) Pictures of the slow one; ![]() ![]() Any questions? Be serious. I like answering stuff. |

Any suspension mods other than your chassis bracing?

nah. I've been wanting to get some coilovers and give the car a 1.5" drop. But I don't know, there are so many parking spaces/lot entrances here that have a severe dip. There will be the undercar H brace, rear upper strut brace and that'll be it until the car is paid off. I owe for another 3 years on it.

Nah. I really only ever sit on Hondaswap.com anymore. HT got too borish. Same people with the same insults over and over.
Since my b16a isn't broken; I ain't gonna fix it. If the engine blows up I might consider a b18, b20/vtec swap. edit: just realized my final drive is wrong, it should be a 4.4 but I can't edit my post now. |

Depends on the dyno. I've seen GSR cams lose a b16a 2-3 horses, but I've also seen them gain. I dunno.
I have an intake, my catback isn't ever coming. 600 dollars and almost two years since I ordered it. driftspeed.com gets a huge thumbsdown for this. |

Yeah, I always wanted to get one of those "Yeah, it's got a Hemi" license-plate frames for my old 'yota pickup.
Back on topic - you ever autocross this thing, 2000?
