Well alot of that comes from it weighing 3725 lbs curb weight. All the horses are there it just weighs a crapload and that slows it down cosiderably. Compared to the base C6 vette with the same engine the GTO has about 500-700 more lbs of weight.

hey, 400 horses isn't a bad start though, and if you wanted to make a mean beast then just strip out the interior, cause those engines can accept huge mods

Yeah stangs do feel faster than the GTO. The GTO is fast its just real deceptive. I know the other day I was driving I thought I was doing 50 and I look down and I'm doing a shade above 80. I jumped from a 127hp 170ftlbs car to the GTO so I feel the power perhaps more than someone who has had fast cars before. But after like day 4 I felt it needs to be faster. So it's mod time

With that said I love mustangs, I don't regret getting the GTO, but I need to make sure to get me a stang one of these days.
They're redoing the entire vette? It's only been out a few years... this'll be the shortest production length of any version of vette, ever.

Too bad they're nowhere near as cheap as Mustang mods. I don't intend to mod the crap out of mine anyway. Maybe a full exhaust, port the TB, and maybe do a cam after warranty. It's gonna be my DD so I'm leaving all the comfort in it. I got a Grand Marquis and BMW E30 to toy around with for now.

But from what it seems it will be heavier than the GTO 4000lb territory. Along with the fact they say it will come with stock 20 inch rims and will be able to use up to 24s

I don't know if that was sarcasm or not but the Camaro is "supposed" to be a muscle car and muscle car+24 inch rims=no.

You're talking about the "Interceptor" concept, which as of right now is only a Sedan. It is based on the new Mustang chassis, but Ford has vehemently denied that they will be calling it a Mustang anything.

Rather than mucking about with the Mustang chassis, just bring over one of those SWEET Aussie Ford Falcons with the Turbo INLINE 4.0L 6. Screw this V6 crap. I'd buy one of those Falcons right now if they brought 'em over.

Let me reiterate this for the Ford Corporate guys: INLINE SIX GOOD!, V6 BAD! Now go to your room!

Too bad ass and they have a V8 one too. A non-turbo straight six is better than a V6. I'm a very big straight six fan, its a shame only BMW uses them nowadays.

Doesn't chevy have a straight six again, in the Trail Blazers?

Wow I had no idea. A 4.2L I6 with almost 300hp, not too shabby. I'm not a truck guy though, but that is very nice on there part to use a good engine like that.

They have an I6 in the TB, and they made I5 and I4 derivatives in the Canyon/Colorado.
