Help please urgent


hey guys im just at work and i went out to start my pontiac grand prix daily driver it would turn over start and immidiatly die. you could also not rev the engine etc and the rpm were litteraly nil i jacked it up and theres a little wire dangling as in a rubber housing with a thin metal cord as if something snapped any ideas guys im a little stuck thanks....??

definitely throttle cable but the IAC should keep it running at idle your iac is malfunctioning as well it has to be.

prob


if that cable is the sorce of the problem it could be a thorrtle line, MAF sensor would cause to to run crappy to but shouldnt be there, bad fuel filter or fuel pump if its not that cord, turn the key a little and see if you hear the fuel pump run if not hit your gas tank a little and it could work again, could be a realyl beat fuel filter

hmm, if it is a stick did you try keeping it in nuetral before you let go of the clutch after starting it? i know that the throttle cable would result in loss of no gain in rpm's but maybe you had it in first or third and didn't realize it and just didn't pay attention to the clutch and that is what is causing it to die, i know it sounds silly, but it sometimes happens
