My LT1 Camaro is also an automatic, but I love those 6 speeds! I've considered a trans swap; however, even a used T56 is really high in price or at least all the ones I found were.

Trust me a built auto isn't any cheaper. For just the amount of power I'm looking to put down(390-400rwhp after I get it tuned) a good trans is 1700 not including a torque convertor. Obviously a stock rebuild is cheaper but none of the stock hard parts will hold up to mid 1.5 60fts without the sun shell taking a crap or the stock 4 pinion rear planetary.
