I did not know that. Doesn't make much sense that they don't offer it. Of course trying to figure why car companies do what they do is like trying to figure woman out.

Ford has gotten a little goofy lately anyway. I can't figure why on earth they would discontinue the Ranger in the US only while the rest of the world gets an all new one.

Are they getting rid of it? I know chevy is killing the Colorado and canyon line and Nissan is doing the same with the frontier

Yeah, but every truck except the Tundra did ok - if it was pure propaganda than everything but the Ford would have sucked. It may be biased towards Ford, but it still shows true tests.

I would have to see it from an independent source or in person. If those test were done by a rep from a different company than that truck would have won. You are not gonna showcase your truck with your celebrity spokesman and lose, especially when you are the company doing the testing.

The four door raptor has been out for a while now.
The ecoboost is offered in almost every body configuration besides the single cab, short bed. My opinion is Ford has the best overall truck, even if it does cost more. They have the best fuel mileage, ride quality, equal amount of interior room as the other brands and more then some. Best interior design and quality, style is subjective but doesn't look bad and great reliability. The titan looks good, has a strong powertrain, good 5 speed transmission, great interior room with a nice layout and good ride quality. Just don't expect more then 13mpg but its about $4,000 cheaper then a similar Ford,Toyota and Dodge around here. The Tundra is ugly as sin in my opinion, has a lot of interior room, a lot of power, good 6speed transmission, shitty interior layout and rides pretty good. Fuel mileage also sucks and costs a pretty penny to buy. Dodge is a nice looking truck, rides good, has a good amount of power, gets decent fuel mileage, has the least amount of interior room, has a mediocre interior and priced reasonably well. Chevy/Gmc looks decent but the GMC looks the best in my opinio. They ride good, have a good amount of power if you get the 6.2, gets the second best fuel mileage, has a good interior, good 6speed transmision and can be bought for almost as cheap as a Titan in my area. I have been looking for a new truck for the last year or so and will most likely end up with a Silverado. My wife has started working for a company that offers a huge discount on GM vehicles and its hard to pass up the savings we can get on a new Silverado.

I looked at Gmc and chevy but all of them around here have tan interior for some reason. I want black/charcoal or gray at least. The titan is only offered in a 4 speed. And I stillhave yet to see the ecoboost in a true 4 door. But I do think I have ruled out the titan. Unless I get a he'll of a deal. I bought the Gf a new 3.5 altima fully loaded 2 months ago. And right now they are doing 8500 cash back on the titan plus any side deal I can work

Yea I was revering to 4 speed with OD which is different than a 5 speed auto. But as for crew cab 4 door, I have been to 6 Ford dealers and not one had the ecoboost available in a 4 door and all said the truck doesn't exist yet

I've been looking at trucks recently too and almost no dealers have any eco boosts here, but you can build a 4 door eco boost on their website so I'm pretty sure they can order one for the 2012 model year

I would look at another dealer then. The new F150's are technically a four speed auto also, cause the last two gears are considered overdrives by ford.

Ok I got a cqall from a dealer today and they told me they got in the crew cab eco's. I went and checked them out pretty nice truck. Doesn't sound like a truck though at all with that Eco. They had 7 come in in that layout, but no center console shifter avaliable. And they told me again that is only avaliable in the higher end trucks, Lariat, King ranch etc. The Ecos cost more than the 5.0 though. About 3 grand more optioned out the same way. And the MPG were 2 MPG more than the 5.0. Now I don't know which way to go at this now. Damn Ford and their packages.

well heres my experience with the new f-150 5.0 that dad has as a work truck. it will haul ass and does about anything you ask it to. toyotas i cant say anything bad about them but i like my american trucks with oil filters that you dont have to tighten on with a toddlers hand. i have an 07 new style chevy. well only thing it has going for it is milage and the luxury. only has the 5.3 and it does not have low end tourque at all but the fuel management is amazing 24 mpg if youre not speeding. dad gets about 22 with his otis truck but its also loaded down with tools and stuff along with he doesnt care how he drives it which means it can get better. uhm still dont know about the toyotas in those matters. and i agree with the comments about titans being pigs they go ok in strait lines but they arent the best trucks ive seen.
just my $.02 from new chevy and new ford driver and a yota hater.

I think I might go with a Dodge Ram, After driving the F-150 I wasn't that impressed, the warranty is the worst of all the trucks I have looked at as well. I drove a 2012 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Sport today. It has the center console shift as well and comes fully loaded including Nav and any other thing you can think of and the Hemi, which is rated 1 MPG less than the Ecoboost. Also the sport comes with color coded bumpers and mirrors, already has the tow package and leather seats. And 3 different factory hood options. To get a F-150 like this you are looking at 45k and up. The Ram is listed at 39k but with rebates right now I can grab it for 31k.
