Torino Cobra 429scj starting problems

Hi, I've been trying to figure out why my car won't start. I've narrowed it down to this:
I turn the key to the start position and I get a quick spark at the start of the cycle and when I go to turn the key off, no constant spark... Plenty of fuel, so I'm a little perplexed?
Any suggestions?? As always, thanks in advance for your help!

First off thats an amazing machine you have. Does it still have points or electronic ignition? Sounds like your coil isnt being triggered maybe an issue with the points or a pickup coil if its electronic?

Thanks for the compliment, but in it's current condition, it's a 2 ton paperweight...lol
I've done some more digging on my own and it sounds like a plausible explanation that the starter switch isn't operating properly? It currently has a Mallory Unilite distributor and a MSD Blaster 2 coil, which both test out properly from what I can see, so I'm going to try the starter switch, only bad thing about that is having to strip the steering column down to do it, not that expensive... Thanks for the reply!

Yep, mine is also the 4:30 Drag Pak with the oil cooler and runs about 3200 rpm at 60 on the highway. Definately not a car for a long trip...

Actually, the cars were built in Atlanta and shipped to K.C. (Claycomo), where they were decaled by an outside source contracted by Ford.
