1999 malibu power steering high pressure hose?
First off, what an absolute piece of shit. Nothing on this car is reachable, visible, or serviceable. The power steering took a dump last night, and we limped it to my house and pulled it in the garage. The power steering fluid was low so I topped it off and started it up.
I'm fairly certain the high-pressure hose blew out so it leaked a dinner-plate size puddle on the floor of my garage. I jacked the car up and crawled under there to see what the problem was. Well, I can't see anything since the rack and pinion is squeezed between the frame and the floor pan, impossible to see or reach anything. Fluid is leaking all over the place under there and there is no way to see which hose is leaking or where exactly because of heat shields around the hoses since the exhaust is so close.
I told the owner to call some shops and see what they tell her for cost, and if its too expensive to get a hold of me and I'll try and see what I can do. So far I have had no luck searching online, so does anyone have any advice on how to replace the high pressure hoses on a 1999 malibu? Specifically, how to reach it so I can remove it and replace it?
