Opinions on picking a DD

I'm looking for a new to newish car for a DD, mostly because the stangs 18mpg is killing me and i want to cam it and put it on radials. Anyways, so far I'm looking at a 2012 Focus SE auto 14k miles for $14,995 firm. A Kia Soul 2012 6spd 1200 miles for $12,995 firm and a 2012 Mazda2 spot 5sp for $14,795 negotiable, and a 2012 Fiesta S sedan 5spd unknown price. Out of these 3 which would you pick and why? Also If you have a recommendation for a car that can be had for under $15k that gets close to 30mpg I'd love to hear it and I'll check and see if i can find one. I haven't driven any of these cars yet, or really even looked at them closely either. I'll be going in the next week or 2 to look. so far though, I'm liking what I've read about the mazda2, and I'm hoping I can get the dealer to come off the price a little. They also got a 2011 Mazda2 sport auto for $14,500 that i could probably get a better deal on, but i'm not crazy about the auto part. And yall can relax, I'm not trading my stang for any of these. lol. But, I have considered trading the stang in for a 2011 v6 6spd, but that'd leave me with a higher car payment, and still one car to drive and play in. Thanks for any input.

Get a used jetta for like 5k. They get like 30mpg stick. As said, you can buy alot of gas for the price of a car payment.

So, you are gonna gain 12 mpg's at $4/gallon but you are gonna pay for a car payment, insurance, and registration.

lets do a quick/rough yearly #'s crunching game:

$300 payment +$50 insurance + $50 registration (monthly rates).

Thats $400/month you are paying to gain 12 mpg's.

You would have to drive 1200 more miles/month to break even.

30 miles per gallon at $4.00 per gallon = 7.5 miles per $1.00
18 miles per gallon at $4.00 per gallon = 4.5 miles per $1.00

You will gain 3 more miles for every dollar you spend on gas, but you have to drive a minimum of 1200 miles to take advantage of the "savings".

I say get a motorcycle unless you just need another vehicle.
