2004 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 4x4

Just bought it about three weeks ago. I had it at the shop to get it inspected where I get my Mustang engine worked on and was talking to the guys there about exhaust work on the truck. They told me that there are enough cats in the exhaust so that I can just take off the muffler and there will be enough backpressure for the engine.

I took it off and the truck sounds great, not too loud, just perfect. My question is, does this affect gas mileage? I haven't had the truck long enough to get a feel for what it is like... The shop where I get the stang tuned said I might lose a little torque but that's it. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

I'm a retard... I just realized I already posted this. I never did get an answer about gas mileage though. My bad!
