2001 toyota corola

I have a 2001 corola that i crashed last week nothing real major, so i thought. I hit a beam on the higway around 60mph on the driver side front fender. After the crash the car would not start.

My question is why wont my car start?

I have checked battery, fuses, Etc.. And still cant find the problem.

THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP OR SUGESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.

Steven

When you say it won't start, do you mean:

- that it won't light up the dash lights
- will fire but won't kick over on it own
- will start but won't move
- or wha?

Judging by the fact that you're saying you're checking battery and fuses it probably at least tries to kick over right?

If your fender was hit, was it demolished? I know that there could be a pretty vital engine wiring harness behind the fender. I'd say start looking around at the wiring in that general area. Other than that, a lil fender bender usually doesn't cause any type of real motor damage/issues. Maybe something just happened to become disconnected or loose in the impact? Sorry if I'm not that helpful, but original post wasn't entirely TOO descriptive.

I took your advice, removed the side fender and sure enough the wire harness had a least 8 wires that were cut due to the accident. I tried to reconnect them and start it up but no luck. Do think I should replace the wire harness?

Yowza.

Well, was there any other body damage besides the fender? I'd say start with the wiring that you fixed in the fender. Fix it again. I'm almost willing to bet that your answer will be found there.

I have tried again to rewire it, but no luck. What would you suggest?

When you say it won't start... what do you mean exactly.

-When you put the key in the ignition and click it one time, do your dash lights come on?

-When you click again is it in "start" mode?

-When you try to start it does it turn over or does it just sit there and do nothing?

The answers to these will help start narrowing it down..

Ok, the car turns over but it will not turn. All lights in side and out work. I have taken off the front side fender and tried to fix the wires that were damage, but no luck.

Before the accident the car was in perfect condition. The only problem was the side fender and some small damages on the driver side doors and to the rear side fender.
