Ranger ignition

I have a 92 2.3 Ranger. Its primarily my work truck.
Is the factory ignition worth a shit? Its a cold natured mofo. It HATES cold days. Takes it like 10 tries to make it fire. Would a MSD/Mallory/Crane etc. be a wise investment, or jst replace the factory w/ new parts?
