2000 Mercury Cougar


Went into G&S muffler shop today and asked is it possible to get my car to have dual exhaust they told me no but i have seen other cougars same years with dual exhaust so now im puzzled and need some help because i was wanting a Cougar modification site so i can start working on my cougar again when i get its new clutch done

yes I have seen cougars with duals too. But normally its just the one pipe running to the back and it splits into two. They might have thought true duals if so I dont think you can do that

Oh i know i can't get true dual i don't want true dual that would run me to much just want regular dual exhaust and they said they couldn't do it and i was like WTF.... so now im just like i know theres a way but could it be that i can't have dual cuz its a V4???

And I never said it would be that easy but you could custom make them with elbows and shit. But it would be alsot easyer to have a muffler shop do it.


I would go to a different on and see what they say

its actually a V6 btw...and im sure you could route a true dual exhuast with some time and effort....I wouldnt doubt a dual 2-1/4" exhuast to fit.. I'd think dual 2-1/2" is a stretch and dual 3" impossible.. But dual 2-1/4" should be plenty for the engine...its not huge so it doesnt need a huge exhaust.

If you cant fit a true dual exhuast, im 110% sure you could fit a y-pipe with dual mufflers and tips...I KNOW for a fact that can be done...I know people who have it...
