Is He Full Of It?


i was talking to my friend the other day that i havent talked to in a while. we started talking about the car he has now which is one o' em' errr subaru impreza wagons. its an 06 or 07. i cant remember how much stock flywheel hp he told me they have but it was under 200. he also told me that he had it dynoed and it had 204 awhp. its bone stock with a muffler. i dont know anything about subaru's. is he full of shit?

it depends on the model

they range from 170HP to 300hp from the factory

N/A 2.5L makes ~ 170hp at the flywheel stock. So, if he's claiming N/A and over 200hp at the tires, he's full of it.

However, if he's got 2.0L turbo, then that'd make sense, as those put out ~230hp at the flywheel.

Yeah thee is no way it makes over 200 AWHP with exhaust lol

And what is he doing trying to mod a wagon its a new subaru wagon for peat sakes

Still no, AWD drive trains have collosal drive train loss. If he put out 204 to the wheels on the car and it comes 227 from the factory that equals a little over 10.2% drive train loss. So I call major BS.

My friend has the WRX wagon and is pushing 450hp....

ummm... you know that a 4cyl Turbo engine is capable of high HP... we have a couple of tuned subies doing 9's in the 1/4 with 700hp...

Remind me how much you're putting down right now? 'Cause I'm at 317 at the crank in perfect conditions, probably more like 300 being that I've got 70K+ on the motor, which translates to what, 255-270 at the tires? A '99-04 V6 has 190 at the crank, so that's, what 160-170 at the tires? Hell, a bone-stock terminator car isn't 450 at the crank.

450 is normal on the internet, not in real life.
