I'm Bored

So I'm going to subject you all to a little bit of import modification plans.

These are the products I've researched and asked about on other boards, and for the most part this is what I will be purchasing for my Civic, unless it gets stolen or totalled. (heaven forbid)

Anyway... On with the plans. I'll also be including with most of them the cost of the product and the website I have found it on. Let me be upfront in saying I don't care what it's going to cost, and I honestly don't give two shits if it's still slow or not. I just want to see what I can make of the car.

i appreciate someone actually working on an import car as they would a domestic. i would personally never own an import because of the poor reputation they have received in my eyes after FNF and FNF2. props james, good luck with it all

i have one: why do you want to supercharge vs. the popular import turbos that are out? can you get more power of s/c on your 4cyl? and which engine comes in the si again?

at the same PSI and CFM, a turbo will put down more power because it has less draw from the engine to produce the extra power. I choose the SC because it's instant boost, anywhere in the band.

I plan on autocrossing it eventually, so that helps.

and my engine code is the b16a2. Specific to 99-00 Civic Si's.

b16a3s came in the 94-97 Del Sol VTECs. B16a1s came in the JDM Civics. I forget exactly the years and model type.

Jeez crimeny, James. Did you rob a bank?? Just kidding, I see where you've picked up the parts you have here and there.

I think autocrossing is cool because it's more "real world" than just going fast in a straight line. But I have to ask, what HP do you expect with that and what are you looking for in the 1/4 if you ever run that?

One more thing: a mod?

lol. Yes, I mod in this section as well as off topic.

Autocrossing teaches you how to control your car during braking, accelerating and hard cornering. Anybody can aim a car straight and put it down a 1/4 track, unless you're driving a top fuel car, or anything 10s and below. (there are exceptions, of course.) I just know that my car isn't built for straight line performance. Which is part of the reason I plan on the SC route. Instant boost, always in boost, very minimal spool time.

As far as the power production, it's hard to say without doing that craptastic ricer math, but I do know on a stock 160 hp B16a at 6 psi on the JRSC kit, according to www.jacksonracing.com and a few people who've had them on hondaswap, has put down about 193-198 front wheel horsepower. Stock the B16a will put down between 140-150 whp. You read that right, 40-50 wheel hp JUST from the kit. With I/H/E, a ported TB and GSR cams (which have a more aggressive profile than b16a cams) I would venture to say 210-215 with a good tune. (I'm not holding my breath for that number, though) I really don't care how fast it'll be in the 1/4, but I think I should be well into the 13s.

99-00 Civic Si's came with the DOHC VTEC 1.6L b16a2 straight four. Producing 160 hp @ 7600 rpm and 111 ft lbs torque @ 7000 rpm. I know everything there is to know about Civic Si's, and quite a bit about Honda's in general.

I'm not going with a turbo, everybody and their mother has a turbocharger. I want instant boost; it's better for autocrossing. I want to hear the whine of the SC and I already bought my header.

As far as the P28 ECU, there's no such thing as a Jspec (JDM) P28. P28s came in the USDM 92-95 Civic Si/EX.

Not to sound like a jackass, but you should ask a few more questions of me as well as your cousin. Head to www.importaddiction.net/forums and ask as much as you want. I'll answer what I can.

You all have to recognize, that is for sure!!

Those are some extensive and respectable mods, I don't give a shizz WHAT they're going on. And you're doing most of the work yourself, right?

It just trips me up a little to hear you say "front wheel horsepower." That owns!

BTW, where did you get your driving lights? Those are sweet and mine look like turds.....

I'll do the work I can myself, but I don't have an extensive tool collection. I can do the small things like header/intake/exhaust, but i'd like to get the supercharger, suspension and brakes installed by a professional. That way there's less drive time to the dyno/shop for tuning/alignment purposes.

My driving lamps are stock honda lamps, when I'm driving the car they're on.

Well, looks like I'll be busy Sunday.

I got my gauge bezel a few weeks ago, and today as I walked up to the door I saw a box sittin there. My gauges showed up!

Boost and Oil Pressure. I'll install them both but only hook up the Oil Press for now. w00t!

This is gonna look SICK.

Whenever finances allow. I'm thinking of saving up to put a nice downpayment on a laptop, and then financing 500 or so of it first.

Just realized I never put in my ICE plans/previous purchases. Updated. Everybody knows my system now... and I love it.

Deck, I was in a hurry to install it so I could get to work, so it's been half installed for a year and a half now. Yes, I know, it's crooked:

nah. I just ordered my door speakers/tweeters and rear deck speakers today. after those are installed I'm DONE with ICE.

It's loud enough for me. Good bass, good volume, light package. (my sub and amp only weigh 15 lbs total).
