1998 Camaro Help!

ok so i just spent all evening putting in a new 02 sensor in my G/F's 1998 3.8L camaro because thats what the code read the bank 2 sensor was bad. so i replaced it(PITA by the way), so we take it out for a drive and its doing the same thing it was before, when you accelerate even moderatly it hesitates and runs horrible, and the check engine light came back on. any clue at all what it is??? even just an idea???? can i but just a cheap code reader somewhere? thanks

-tyler

ya it was the front bank 2 heated sensor, (which is on the passenger side on the chevy 3.8L) it was the front one before the cats, right on the manifold

if the heater element on it is failing that means that they two grey wires have something wrong with them... did you replace them with new ones when you did all this work or just clean the old ones...

like i said this could be bad dude... those two wires shouldn't be touched or spliced or anything cause it could lead to more problems... but you might have to look into by passing the connector...

take it in and see if they can tell ya what they think about it and see if they can point out where the problem is and tell them that they are nuts for wanting $xxx to fix it and then fix it your self

not that i know of ... if it is indeed the heating element then you need to take it in and have it appraised and see what they think is wrong with it... this is gonna be a biggy

sounds like the car is in limp mode.
It doesn't sounds like detonation at all.

go get it scanned for free at a parts store and tell us the code.

was the O2 code the only one? when it comes to some codes, like cat effciency, O2 sensors, fuel trim, ect. sometimes its not the parts you would think it is. thats why there are experienced mechanics that know troubleshooting.

I had a 97 Firebird, try checking the ignition coils. If it's shakes and feels like it's gonna crap out thats what my guess would be being that I had to change mine all the damn time.

we took it to the shop... 4 spark plugs were fouled, the plug wires were bad and the fuel injectors were clogged. so we got that fixed. my g/f's dad went to pick it up and started sriving it home and the check engine light came back on so he took it back to the shop. we should know later or tomorrow what else is wrong with it. this car is turning into a nightmare, i told her she should have bought a mustang
