If older cars could make the list, the 2001 VW Beetle with TDI 1.9L would smoke those cars. My Dad has averaged 52mpg with mixed city and highway in his. Summer it usualy gets more mpg's than winter.

I think the MPG's dropped for TDI's with the new Emiss junk for 08, but not sure by how much.

i know those are all cars but i get 12 mpg in my dodge ram with the hemi mds
