I bought this car back in jan of 05, used with 72,000 on the odometer. It was a beautiful car, looked to me like it was worth the asking price of 9,995. So i didnt try to haggle much, i did ask for some matenence/body work to be performed (a scratch here, a chip there, a worn out serp belt) other then that the car was flawless. I asked to see the blue book value, he already had it printed. I looked and it said 8450. So i accepted it and happily signed the paperwork and was happily in my newish Cadillac. Turns out the copy was a fake the real blue book was 4500 in mint condition. So i said so what i got ripped off, the car still seemed worth 10g's to me. I liked it. Not a problem. Beautiful car. Then i met my wife. There is a reason we never let anyone borrow our cars gentlemen, and heres why...My wife was 20 at the time, from New Jersey. I overestimated her skill behind the wheel just based on her being from New Jersey. She side swiped a pickup truck trying to park the thing one day, Got broadsided front driverside fender by a Dodge Caravan, then backed into a guard rail, overheated it since it was leaking coolant from the broadside accident, spilled chocolate milkshakes all over the passenger side floors (front and back), her buddy dropped a couple cigarette butts on the floor and one on the back seat (all leather white interior), hit a curb, opened the door into another car that was white, then i get backed into at a grocery store by another WOMAN in a Cadillac!

I havent been in an accident since i was 17 years old. This car has been hell for me. Crank case sensor went out, radiator went bad, now the thermostat went out, the battery is a 14volt battery for some reason, my wife lost the door clicker so the alarm goes off everytime i get into it, i had a tranny line burst that required dropping the trann to get to, the tires were being chewed to death since being broadsided, the oil cooler leaks, the blower (heater/AC) motor went out required taking the whole dashboard out, and the most recent thing is shocks are now shot and they are only 9 months old!

I still love the cars styling and comfort, but it has been nothing but a nightmare. Do not buy one of these cars. There value fell alot initially because noone was willing to buy a 6 cylander caddy, nor a rebadged Opal. Im surprised it still runs. btw the wife wants a Honda now lol

Oh btw i cant even trade this thing in on anything, its smashed in 4 spots now, and would be hard to sell for 2g's, plus i still owe like 7g's on it. That seems like too much negative equity to drop on something brand new even. Then even if i do trade it on on something brand new, the wife will be driving it mostly....destroying it.
