99 durango fuel filter change

my freind needs to change his but was told its 150-300 to replace becasue its in the gas tank

anybody have any input

look at the gas tank and you'll see 2 straps.

un bolt them.

(best done on a near empty tank)

it's simple.. just drop the tank to get access to the filter.

and once we get to the filter we just simply pop it off and replace it...im going to do mine tommorow btw...

you need a special tool for yours.

not sure about the durango.

you can get it cheap at any parts store.

just tell them you need a fuel filter dissconect tool for a mustang

well how much is that gonna run me...i mean the guy thats changing my oil said 20 bucks to put the thing in

so i think i mite just do that lol...and have him do that gas pedal mod thing too

btw does it really help at all?

i just used a screw driver to get mine off my mustang and then the new filter came with new clips.

dropping the tank on that would be pretty easy since the durango sits pretty high in the back. I did it in an 89 lebaron with a full tank (retard) like 5 months ago. Def easy enough to save 300 bucks.

yes the gas peddle mod is definitely worth it. Not hard at all to do.
