If you weren't killing stock Si's everyday then there would be something wrong called the Driver Mod.

I'd love to watch you run across a Civic Si with those kinds of mods. 395 hp is enough for 12s quite easily in any Si.

OK Si guys a question for ya all.
when you all did your irst oilchange 3500miles, what was the oil life percentage? (to those that dont know, honda basicaly allowed you now to keep an eye on your oil life in a percentage type scale.)
1st honda oil is as special break in oil by honda (confirmed with dealerships mechanics the other day)

Anyways I hear of people having their oil life for first oil, drop to 30-40% before the 3600mile change.
Now I was going the "hard break-in" and my oil life was surprisingly 60% right before the 1st change, and the oil level barely dropped.
Does that indicate propper compression, and a great break in? if yes, I'm axcited.

by hard break in process, I mean I was raping it right to the limiter 8200rpm's right out or the "box"

If anyone is interested into hard break-in process, google it, It's worth a read.

So guy's please post ur last oil life percentage, and levels if possible.

and to the mustang dude, sry to hear ur mustang broke at 2000k if thats true, that's a nice set up, but not practical.

Hell if I know, I bought my Si used with 38k miles on it. Honda changes my oil for a shade under 19 bucks every few months.

Although these are all new, there are a few turboed Si's that would put a challenge up for you.
But still can you guarantee your mustang will run for 200k without any major repairs? or get even a close mpg?

U'r in a different boat buddy. go race an NSX
u seem to hav done a bit of homework on your honda, im glad to see that.. most owners who buy cars that are "mainstream" (both of our cars are, btw) tend to think they hav the best cars ever (guilty ) and never do any research

yes, honda has a very good racing program.. they hav bikes, both adult and kiddie sizes, and win races on them.. they hav to have some experience to come up with somehting as complicated and useful as the vtec (yes Si i did a little more research into it )

dont forget, the NSX handles like a damn machine from the future and has pretty decent hp/tq numbers.. tested on the nurburgring too

and yes, the F1 cars, they recently got acura into it too

honda has a lot of experience racing, dont assume those engines suck.. for wut they are, civics deserve the name they hav.. its the ppl who drive them that give them a bad name.. ricing it to hell and back then flying by at 90mph when ur not even racing.. annoying really

but anyways.. the dude wit the V6, turbolx wud own u, not only in hp/tq numbers, lighter weight, and the fact that his car is a convertible, but the real kicker is: two point three liters

Oh no question about it he’d burn me any day. Still I admire Hondas.
I’ve got this one for reliable daily driving, gas mileage, and it still takes me to 130mph in barely no time. I love to “fastlane” thru traffic, and handling satisfies me as well.
As for a little experience that I have with Hondas, my previous ride was a civic with an Integra type R swap in it. (most done myself anyways.)
On the other hand I think it’s a little silly for someone to put all that work into a V6 like the other guy mentioned. I mean if you’re spending that much money on the car, u might as well start off a GT, but again I’m’ not an expert in mustangs, nor am I a fan of those.

Yes NSX is still my dream car for that 100% aluminum body, and formula one handling.
And the funny thing about them is that they out handle on the track many cars that are a few hundred hp’s on top of NSX’s . But then they are all N/A, and then you can boost those as well. However Honda was making NSX’s for track with naturally aspirated setups doing 500~600 hp’s as well. But again that’s another totally different boat.

Recently I had a bad experience with a fellow on the street who was calling me names for me driving a civic. I just lolled in his face. Obviously he would spoke me no question about it. He was on an older early ~90’s camaro with a 5.7 in it. Was bashing civics for their 2.0L calling them a soda bottles. He’s just some random dude that popped on the street. Well all I said is to come talk to me when that 5.7 becomes 570HP’s (100hp/liter)
Naturally aspirated. Until then STFU.
No offence on any of those motors, I just hate when random people come up start bashing you (me as a civic driver) calling names and cuss at you for driving a civic.

Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t bashing Honda’s motors, but rather admire them, it is a mater of preference anyways.

“but anyways.. the dude wit the V6, turbolx wud own u, not only in hp/tq numbers, lighter weight, and the fact that his car is a convertible, but the real kicker is: two point three liters”
if you read back a little there are 2 dudes. 1 with a v6 (that V6 is not the 2.3) The 2.3 turboed 4 banger, was a different one. u’r confused a little.

do wut i do when V8 owners like to talk shit..

ask him how much his gas costs.. if he gets smart, ask if he wants to race ur dad's Z06 instead of a "wimpy" 4 cylinder

and be dead serious about it too

usually they tend to kinda go off and play by themselves after callin u a few more names to make themselves feel manly

LOL nah these things usualy dont bother me hehe.
I usualy say "My d!ck is still bigger" which pisses them off realy bad.
Because usualy those s#ittalkers are people who have low self esteam, and always need to brag about something of theirs, or put others down just so they feel a little batter for themselves.
We should rather be sorry for those people sometimes.
Who cares who drives what. As long as it satisfies you.
Now actualy racing is a totaly different story, and I'd love to take people thru the streets. (fastlaning thru trafic= driving skills).
But talking yeah, just talking s#it to others for no reason is just LOW.

An interesting incident occurred yesterday on my way home from work.
I have encountered an 05+ mustang which looks like a v6 (It had only 1 exhaust pipe.) I should have asked that dude if it was a v6 indeed.
Any ways, we did 2 roll-ons:
1 from 45mph + (first roll on I started from behind, and accelerated right after I saw him floor it.)
The other one was from 65+ (good start because it puts me in around 7k rpm’s in 3rd)
Both roll-ons I took to around 130mph.

I was surprised to see the dude couldn’t keep up both times.
As far as driving, I must say that I was constantly in the v-tech high rpm zone. 6-8K rpm.s

Now this is my first, and only experience with a mustang v6 (I assume), but I was surprised myself due to the numbers posted in this thread a little earlier. Who knows, maybe it’s just the gaskets fault (gasket between steering wheel and the seat) may needs to be replaced.

So that’s that. I’ll be looking for more trouble later.

P.S. that mustang had a Shelby scoops (rear quarter windows)
And rear windshield curtain (looks like horizontal blades covering glass) also found on new Shelby’s. I though making a v6 looking like a Shelby is kind of pathetic.

I'm not sure on the numbers, but I was reffering to someonelse have posted earlier that an 05+ v6 stang would own an Si without a problem

I think your numbers might be a bit off as well, but not sure, could be wrong.

Yes indeed, It's jsut there were a conversation back a few pages where a few people said that an 05+ stang would rape the new Si's, and here is a coincidence (yesterday.)
In any case. Its funny how people bash them Civics so much.
I see it almost every day. (with me).
Even when most civic drivers drive normaly and dont touch anyone, they ar still mostly being picked on. Lol talk about stereotypes.
Well I kinda like the attention.
Gives me something to do during long booring frives.

i wanna b an A-hole and bring this back to life and just wanted to say ima lil disapointed in some of the ppl and there knowledge of there own cars no1 specifically but i saw alot of hear-say also

i just wanna say any car is fast with mods. ANY and when ever considering stock vs stock situations the best thing to do is seriously very simple... dragtimes.com find all the stockers there and see which group has the faster times mind u the location counts.... now i cant imagine all the best drivers r in a specific car so yea thats it, another thing the best way is first hand expierence. get out there and learn who can stomp u

most ppl with my car can say they will rock a civic..me not so much i've raced 5 hatches and only beaten 2 the others fealt bad and actually slowed down halfway through 2nd... dont u think those guys will tell tohers they can rock 4.6 mustangs??? lil do they kno my npi 4.6 auto only has about 175rwhp(guessing-light mods)

now im tired of reading and its late, lol goodnight
