clicking noise in non mustang vehicle?
I know this is not a direct Ford Mustang question but if anyone is willing to help please do. My wife has an 06 Chrysler Pacifica 3.5 liter. After changing the oil I noticed there was still a clicking noise similar to an engine running low in oil. She took it to the Chrysler Dealership today and they told her there were major engine problems and have ordered a new cam and she thinks new valves and springs. If tis is true, got any idea what may have caused this problem? Does it sound like there is a huge problem that will not get better? Still under warranty but only for about another 11,000 miles.
I will find out more tomorrow but anyone willing to throw in some .02 I will be more than thankful

could be valves.... this is common with Mach1's but it didn't mean anything was wrong with them just loud valve sounds...

I think I'd ask to see the head while it was apart and look for any scoring of the cams, cam bearings, lobes, or lifters. I suppose it's possible a spring broke and was rattling around in there. Be thankful you're still under warranty!

Solid lifters require regular adjusting but hydraulics usually do not.
Over time hydraulics can get clogged & start to click. |

Here is the scoop guys tell me what you think:
They removed the lf head, intake and valve cover and found a rocker too loose. They then removed the rockers and found " lash adj bad " and " lobe on cam worn " ???? Anyone know what this means and if this problem could happen again? My wife picked it up Sat a.m. so I have not been able to speak with them yet to explain Thanks for any input

If all the cam lobes are worn I would suspect a lubrication problem.
If only the lobe with the loose rocker, it probably happend when rocker came loose. Use locktite or lock nuts on rocker arm fasteners. |
