wat it really comes down to is i would want it to be set up like my car for me to enjoy it the most

maybe as an option you can turn on and off at will

but i love having a clucth to push in and a short shifter

I do agree with that. Even though I don't have a short shifter...

It's got a stick too. You have the option of shifting with the stick or the paddles, whichever happens to be handier at the time.

I agree, there's something more... organic... to shifting a regular 'ole stickshift, and it's something that I happen to enjoy as well.

DeMello, I think given the choice between this and a ZR1, you'd probably take the Viper. The GT-R is supposed to be the easiest car in the world to drive fast, and not just in a straight line. It's certainly going to be a lot easier to hit a paddle or push the stickshift forward once than it is to properly heel-toe and rev-match your 3-2 downshift, if not nearly so satisfiying. On the other hand, you can talk about driving satisfaction 'til you're blue in the face when you miss the shift and lose the race. (heh... I feel a little like Johnny Cochrane after that line). Rally cars don't use sequential manual transmissions because they're slower...

If this is the drag race vid, i've seen it.....cant watch youtube at work. Its interesting to see how much faster the gt2 is than the z06. I would have though t the vette would have done better....could have just been driver/env conditions. Porsche FTW

Thats still a porsche at 6:30, sorry. And the vette was runnin 93 european rated fuel which is less than ours which is why it was so slow.

That was still quite a difference, the porsche had almost disappeared.

I think euro 93 octane is at most 87 here, correct me if im wrong but we all know you can gain alot of power wit higher octance, The vette could easily be down 100 hp

Yup it may be exaggerated a bit but we know what we get wit a 93 tune, the vettes have a high compression motor, so its possible the and look like it from the video that it lost quite a bit.
