id take a 03-04 cobra over any camaro anyday. the value of the termi cars are goin up, i dont exactly see that happen for the camaros

But ford vs chevy has been forever, and its been dead for a few years nearly and its time for some competition from chevy. and its time ford got off their asses and done something worth running home about, besides the cobra and the gt500. Personally Id rather see the TransAm come back instead of the slowmaro.

I had 3 camaros 1 Indy edition trans am and 1 built 355 firebird. Hated seeing the pace car go.

well when i got it , it was an auto, but factory it was manual. so i dont know what trans it had. I know that they just pushed the clutch pedal up and behind the carpet, thats how I found out it had been a manual from the factory. I think it was a 305. I dont think I owned any f bodies that were 350s. I had an 84 bird , 85 ta also. The ta was the best of them all. Although it wasnt the tune port which would have been nice.

I'm sure that Lightning is bad ass. I've seen some bad ass L trucks in the past. There are a lot of bad ass cars out there. It doesn't matter what emblem is on the front, all that matters is how big the owners wallet is. And I never said that Ford can't keep up with Chevy. I was just replying to your statement that Mustangs have always been a step ahead of Camaros. That was something I didn't really agree with is all. The 454SS trucks are a joke! But they are fun to fuck with when you run into one with a redneck behind the wheel that thinks he has a world beater. The Termis' are a far superior car in a lot of ways. That is one of the reasons why my SS is going up for sale in a few days . But I wouldn't go so far as to say 'smoke' the average 1/4 time is about 13.3 compared to 12.8 stock for stock. I know that some guys have gone 12.5 (or a little better) but on the same hand some guys have gone 12.9 (or slightly better) in a bone stock LS1...but who leaves there shit stock ![]() Again, they are a superior car in many ways and in a much higher price range, but the value of these cars is actually dropping. I've wanted one since I first saw one and have followed the market pretty closely. They are actually dropping quite a bit and a lot of the guys on SVTP are practically giving them away. Now is the time to buy one...and that's what I intend to do!!!

BTW, I didn't really mean this to be a ford vs. chevy thing, I was just commenting on how far off chevy seems to be with this car. How many people are really going to shell out $38,000 for a V8 Camaro that has questionable looks? I can think of about 20 other cars I'd rather have for $38,000 including a 3 series BMW. Don't get me wrong, I think ford is a little off its rocker on pricing of the GT500 (especially the KR), but they aren't having any problems selling them. GM always struggled to sell the fbodies. I would think a $25K base model V8 that gets good gas mileage like the vette V8 would be more in line with what people want and what the pony cars are all about. Shit, hyundai is going to release a 310 hp rear wheel drive tiburon/genesis for $25K next year with a 10 year warranty. wow i never thought id meet a chevy guy that id agree almost fully on. i never meant to say ford was king shit, im just saying chevy is still trying to chase the mustang by re-releasing the camaro. and like ryan said, termi cars are cheap if theyve had a hard life, but if you find a weekend driven car owned by someone in their late 30s to 40s that just wanted a cobra to drive, its gonna be about 25-30k for an unmolested, low mile cobra |
