Considering a 2000 ws6 trans amNow,i don't care about brand loyalty or none of that crap.I just think the car looks badass, and from what i understand, performs well and lots of mods around for it.The mods look cheaper as well.It also looks like i could pick one up for a reasonable price. Are there any weaknesses?thoughts?I mean, lol, maybe i am going thru a phase or something.I still love my mustang... example pic,but this is a firebird formula: http://killswitch.spylithelabs.com/photos/front_low.jpg |

The main weakness is the rear end. Some guys are making major power on the stock rear with amazing 60' times, and some guys have snapped them on the street when completely stock.
The main weakness for the motor is the rod bolts. But people are still making over 600 to the rear wheels on a stock rotating assembly with no problems. 550 is the most I would recomend. They are nice cars, and the LS1 is a strong motor that makes good power with relative ease. Let me know the details on a car you are a looking at and I could probably let you know if it is a good deal or not.

the ls1 gets great mileage for being a V8..also like rk said..the weskest part is the ten bolt which could break with stock power...how many miles are on it..also what mods does it already have?...i doubted its stock

I found an auto black ws6 and have him knocked down to 14,200 so far.It has 56k on it.I will try to keep working him. It's hard to find one in my area a reasonable distance.I sorta like the idea of an auto this time.95% of my driving is stop and go.I just wonder the auto tranny strength..

If you can find one get a 01 or 02. The came with the LS6 intake and when you start modding you'll want one. The WS6 and the SS doesn't perform any better than a normal TA or Z28 except in the handling department and that is just because of the bigger wheels and tires. The sway bars are also a little bigger. If you are going to mod it just a normal one and you'll be dollars ahead. I have a WS6 just because that is what I found and the price was right. If I were in the market I wouldn't go out of my way to get one. Oh yea the 10 bolt sucks ass!!
