Anyone Know Anything About Carbs?

I installed a brand new holley 750 double pumper onto my 74 challenger last weekend...after the install it started right up and ran completely fine...today i went to start it and i had to hold the pedal to the floor for a few seconds before it would start...upon starting it reved to 2000 rpm and hung there for a while then dropped down and bogged out...i also noticed that when it bogged down gas was squirting out of the secondary vent tube...i figure thats where my problem is, but what would cause this?

I am no expert on carbs in any form of the word, but the reving to 2000 could be an automatic choke, so it could be your cold motor doesn't want to start, and for whatever reason your choke turns itself off. But, like I said, I'm no expert.

Also. Let's see some pics, I love mopars nearly as much as I love mustangs

i can almost say he's absolutly right, it sounds like the auto-choke is not working correctly, i have a Edelbrock 650 CFM Electric Choke 4 Barrel on my 72 Impala and had that same problem even though its not a dub pump i rewired my choke and now its fine.....!

How're your float settings? I know the Holley I had on my old bronco would puke gas everywhere 'cause the floats were set too high.
