RX8 help

So my friend has an RX8 and its running pretty bad, he just got it not too long ago, said he was driving, came around a corner, heard a noise, and since then it barely idles and bogs out. we checked most everything. some people say it could be the MAP sensor, he said he cleaned it out but would it be the whole module? any other ideas?

Does it just bog at idle, but run good past a certian rpm? Or does it always run like crap?

What noise did he hear? pop? crack? bang? screech? hiss? crunch? sexual moaning? and from where?

haha i dont know what kind. most likely a pop or bang.
it bogs at idle, he has to give it gas to keep it running. it runs like shit when he does that though. sounds like its not getting enough air or similar to our vehicles when the vacuum tube is disconnected. someone says it could be a blown rotary, others say it could be the MAP sensor.
