Need Help. 1997 Taurus SHO

I bought a 97 Ford Taurus SHO 3.4V8 for my winter car but the car doesn't want to idle when its warm, at stop lights i have to use the brake and gas to keep it from stalling. A Trouble code was reading cylinder for misfire. would that be a bad plug or bad coil or something but i don't know to much about these cars. i wanted a svt focus but this was cheaper. Cand someone please help me

Check the IACV, idle control valve, if it has one set up like many hondas that's 90% of the time the cause.

Its a four hour job to change just the plugs, i have to take the engine right our of the car. 3.4 v8 is just too big for a taurus

not with the right tools. The misfire for the cylinder was for #4 cyl? If so, it's probably a bad coil. The 3.4's were one of the first coil-on-plug engines. I'd try to just replace the #4 cyl plug and wire and see if that takes care of it. Since it's on the rear of the engine, make sure the spark plug well isn't filled w/ water. If the cowl seal is bad, any water off the windshield can fill them up in a very short time

just go ahead and push it off a cliff, those v8's had cam sprocket problems that if they walk off the snout of the cam, kiss the motor good buy, its only like a 700 dollar fix for the cam sprocket
