My Friend Is Getting A TSi
Yeah it seems his uncle is about to give him a free 1995 Talon TSi. Nice little car. Well its going to be an automatic which kind of sucks, but regardless he wants to do some work to it. The problems is he's a cheap bastard so its only going to be minor things. I heard that for F/I cars (like the TSi) that headers and CAI do quite a bit. Now I found a K&N CAI kit for the car for like 150 or so. The problem is I can't find decent headers to save my life. I found some Bosals but they're only for the non-turbo. So any ideas for the headers? Also if u have a better idea for the CAI it would also be appreaciated. If it matters we're trying to keep everything under $1000 and I'm going to do the installation of everything myself.

Start with the exhaust, no doubt. Also up the boost and tune it, those should put you well under your budget and extract some serious extra horsepower out of it. Those TSI's can be fast.

Yeah that was more or less the plan except these are the only headers I could find. http://www.car-stuff.com/performance...e=24&category= And I don't know if they're any good because I'm used to seeing headers around $800+. If these are any good then I have a good start there.

The log style manifold is fine for the car...
A CAI will help... I take it that this car is the 420A and not the 4G63 engine... A boost controller is nice...A good tune would be great...There are millions of things that you cna do but first I need to know if it is a AWD 4G63 or a FWD420A... |

I thought all the TSis were AWD Turbo? Aren't the ESis the FWD ones?Anyway this one is AWD Turbo.

There are TSi's and TSi AWD's...
SO he has the 4G63 engine... You could get a CAI off of ebay or you could check local DSM boards and see if you could pick a CAI used up for cheap... Also a test pipe (Takes place of the cat) and a cat-back would do alot of good... A good tune would work nicely too... A boost controller would be great...He could up the boost a bit and then have it tuned...And it would be goodtimes... You can get 300AWHP (All-Wheel Horsepower) with those pretty easily... The list goes on and on...That is what is so nice about the DSM's...There is an endless supply of parts for them and most are rather cheap...One bad thing about DSM's is that they are prone to breaking...And you need to have some mechanice skill or have deep pockets to keep the high horsepower ones going... |

Thanks a lot. He's not trying to get a lot of output from the car just enough so its faster than our other friends stock integra. Although I'm pretty sure the talon is already faster than the integra.
