Was looking for a carb hat for my Dodge Ram w/throttle body injection. Trying to get a little more mile per gallon out of her. Anyway, the K&N system is over $300 and the Air Raid is just under that.

I decided to just build one from the aftermarket stuff they sell at the auto parts and ran into one problem, had to go from 5" at the throttle body to 3" at the inlet tube. Also, not very much room between the firewall and the top of the throttle body.

I started looking into the carb hat for turbo's/superchargers and was shocked at the price of the hats, $175 to $225.

A friend of mine who run a SC told me to go to Checker Auto and ask for catalog for the company that makes all those aftermarket air systems they sell. Low and behold, the company sell/makes the carb hat in both single and dual inlet feeds and get this, $80 bucks,

They are aluminum and come in several powdercoated colors.

Total cost for my system was $157

Just wanted to get the word out,
