I bet the wheels he had were 05+ offset instead of 99-04

The wheels were 99-04. They were ordered from the 99-04 section, as were the replacement 17x8s that I ordered. The tires were Michelin, 275/40-17, the size recommended on the AM site, both front and rear.

I really wanted these to work, believe me. I was not out looking for a hassle. As I said int he PM I sent to Nick, had I not been told by their phone rep when I called that it would be no problem returning them, I would not have put in the replacement order, which was also from them. I would have looked into some way to use them - thinner tires or spacers or something.

As far getting pwned - are you 12 years old?

If your story was remotely believable, you would not be getting out by everyone on the site. Lets look at the facts and determine (to the best of our limited ability) who is most likely to be at fault.

First, we'll investigate the facts on AM:
1. A reputable parts dealer with whom many of us do business with on a daily basis.
2. A company that, as all companies do, have made mistakes in the past.
3. Real people who know their product and deal with the parts they sell every day.
4. A company that goes the extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction (like coming on MM to deal with you).

Next, let's see what we know about WMelNick:
1. A V6 driver who doesn't know what size wheels he needs.
2. Believes that Costco staff is extremely knowledgeable.
3. Puts "knobs" and a system in a V6 and calls it modded.
4. Is DEFINITELY holding out info about why his wheels don't work.

I'm going to take my best guess and say that AM is probably not the ignorant party involved in this transaction.

This should be sig quoted. He tries to make it sound like he is going to a nice shop where the people are his friends. Later, we find out he is going to a two-bit discount tire warehouse staffed with kids from the local Jr. High Votech.

I looked up your order and it looks like you contacted us and the manager that needed to authorize the return did contact you at the provided number the very next day and left you a voice mail. There appears to be no return contact from you after this Looking at the notes it also seems the original phone representative was attempting to troubleshoot this for you.

From the notes I am gathering that while the wheel was test fit on your car on a lift, the car was never lowered to the ground to allow for proper suspension alignment. When a car is on a lift, it is possible for a larger (or even stock size on certain vehicles) wheel to rub or hit because the suspension is hanging down and uncompressed. This is a condition that will never exist when driving the car unless you are ramping it through the air with the wheels off the ground and attempting to steer to full lock in mid-air. With the car lowered onto the ground the suspension will compress and bring the wheels into proper alignment and should not rub.

Despite this, from what I can tell in the notes, the manager was still going to authorize the return when he attempted to contact you.

Now this is as far as I am able to investigate because this order is locked. It appears that you filed a charge back with your credit card company, but you still have the wheels. Since this constitutes credit fraud the order becomes immediately locked and this issue is now between our Merchant Services, your credit card company, and law enforcement agencies. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing I can do for this order on our end because of this.

I attempted to file a chargeback because I could not get in touch with the manager. I do want to return the wheels as they are sittin gin their boxes in my garage doing nothing. The chargeback did NOT go through, so there is no credit fraud involved.

Nick: As I stated in my PM to you the car WAS lowered and it was still rubbing.

Anyway - nice doing business with you.

AM screwed me before....I was trying to get that free AM calendar that was for free a while ago. Well when i went to the check out it was asking me for my CC information so i put it in then i put in the promo code then submitted....I then found out that there was no more calendars and that it charged my card.

I essentially payed $6 to be told that there were no more free calendars. FML
