So do you have 4 good rims yet?

I also recieved my 4 GT wheel center caps today from AM & I am sad to say 3 of the 4 look used. They are scratched & dull looking. Alot of shelf wear.
They are sending me 4 more & I have to send the others back when the replacements come in next Thursday.
I hope someone takes the time to look them over before shipping them out.
Although this wasn't a major purchase it is still frustrating.

WTH is going on with their wheel department and where are they getting their products? That'll shut them down.

No I don't yet have 4 good wheels. Nick went through their entire inventory of 18x9s and it appears that I was right, they had an entire bad run. Now he is in the process of trying to get me a set from the manufacturer without having to wait untill the next shipment comes in.

The center caps are probably fine. There is a very thin film of protective plastic on each of the caps that people frequently think is the caps being scratched. Like the film over the screen when you buy a watch. You have to peal it off to reveal the cap surface.

Yup, I get this question every so often...and I've definitely been fooled myself before too...sometimes it is just hard to tell the film is there. Just start picking at it with your fingernail and it will start to peal up.

Good news, 3 of the 4 had a plastic coating on them. After removing that, they look perfect.
Thanks Nick

Nope, I checked samples from the batches of both the chrome and other painted wheels and they where all fine. This problem was solely with the black Bullitts in this size.

Man, I must of ordered mine in just the nick of time then...

I ordered my rims about 1-1/2 months ago and they were just fine. 18x9/18x10.5 DD Bullitts.

Now the only issue is that I hit a freaking curb and scuffed up the lip bad on the passenger side of the 2.

It is good now. I got an email last week saying that 4 new wheels were shipped, even though Nick said they weren't going to ship them until he is off vacation. I was confused about why they shipped 4 too. Well they arrived, and it makes sense. they sent me a set from a different manufacturer. They are made by Wheel Replicas as far as I can tell (I guess they didn't wanna try the other company again lol). These are PERFECT. Not a blemish on them, and the quality difference is amazing. The fronts are not deep though, which angered me at first, but now that I see them, I like them better. The spokes are shaped a little different too, and the lip is different, but I like them 150 times better. I actually prefer the changes in design that these have, and the quality is so much better that it is all worth it. The weights are still a little excessive, but acceptable to me, and I painted them black so you can't see them. So overall, I am VERY happy, and glad that they went with a different company. If I was a store and had this issue, I'd drop that manufacturer in a heart beat. Hopefulle noone else has to go through what I did to get good wheels, but I'm glad I did now because of how much nicer looking this set is. The spokes are straighter and sharper, they look more like the vintage torque thrusts. The paint finish is way better, as is the machine work on the wheels. Also, the lip is shinier. I love them. They came on friday, as well as the rest of my suspension from Rich, and it was all on the car saturday at 4 Looks killer!

Big thumbs up to AM for going the extra 200 steps to keep a customer happy! I'd buy from them again without hesitation. And many, many thanks to Nick for keeping me from entering a state of murderous rage after the last set, and making this process somewhat painless lol.
