This is rediculous

Well some of you know that I ordered a set of deep dish black bullit wheels from American muscle. I originally wanted American Racing torque thrust Ms, but they discontinued them so I decided to get the ones from AM after a lot of people on here and a few other boards said that you had good luck with them.

Well, I got them last week. The rear ones looked great, well, great enough. But the front ones looked like a blind retard made them. Casting flash all over the spokes, the metal had a wavy texture, and the paint wasn't glossy in certain spots. So I called them, sent pictures, and they sent me a new set without a problem. I was ecstatic about their great customer service and them taking care of this.

New pair came today, and I can say they look a LOT better. But that's the best I can say. One of them still has ONE SPOKE that looks like it is painted flat black, and the other one has a mark on a spoke that is either running paint, or maybe in the aluminum itself. And I garuntee in daylight it will look like total ass with no light reflecting off the one spoke. I cannot even descrine how dissapointed I am. It even said on the invoice "MAKE SURE WHEELS ARE PERFECT BEFORE SHIPPING". I wonder what he checked for, missing chunks? That they weren't chrome? Obviously not that the PAINTED FUCKING WHEELS WERE PAINTED COMPLETELY.

I am stuck somewhere between depressed and murderous rage right now. I don't know what to even do. Part of me says just fuck it, put them on. But I KNOW I won't behappy. Part of me says to get my money back, but then what am I gonna do with it, I don't like anything other than deep dish black bullit wheels. I guess I could have them refinished, but I shouldn't have to. I guess this is what I get for expecting good quality from knockoff parts.

I think they changed wheel manufacturer recently, because these wheels look different than the wheels that everyone else got from them. Maybe the new manufacturer isn't as good or something.

I guess I'll call them in the morning. I'm sure they'll do their best to sort it out but even a refund wont put nice wheels on my car.

Ok I'm done ranting.

Honestly, I could of told you this. Apparently American Muscle doesn't give a shit about their wheel sales. I've seen them short change a lot of people when they had issues like this but yet will dive through hoops about a set of tail light covers. Odd business practice ..

Man you are not the only one that has gone thru that. I saw a guy in this forum that had the same exact issue. Just call them back and keep bugging them. They are the ones that are spending the shipping money. They are pretty good with customer service. If not just get your money back bro. Also check CJ Pony Parts - Ford Mustang Parts

Man I would be getting my money back or a new set of wheels. I would look on Ebay for a set of wheels. I got a brand new set of 20" Foose Nitrous wheels for $848.50 shipped off Ebay.

I have anthracite bullets from AM and have no complaints. I checked them very carefully before I put them on the car. Hopefully they'll come through for you.

I say throw them on. Honestly no one is going to know unless they get on their knee and inspect the rims. When people look at your car they're just gonna do a glance over and no look for flaws

Urban...send them back and don't look back. I would NEVER put them on and you wouldn't either. Get em somewhere else for sure. There is definately a problem there and you don't need it.

+1000

There's no reason that you should be stuck with wheels that are that poor of quality. If you wanted blems you could have found a set and saved some $.

Plus...if they look like that now, what are they going to look like after a few thousand miles of use?

Good to know that I'm not the only one. I tend to look things over real close before I'll use them. I really think they switched manufacturers right before I bought them. ANd the more I think about it, the more I like the older style better. These don't have a normal wheel lip.

I will know. I don't give a flying rats ass about what other people think of my car, I bought it for myself. I will notice that piece of shit wheel every time I look at the car. I notice my left tailpipe being 1/8 of an inch lower than the right one from across a parking lot. I'm very particular.

I don't know what else I'd buy though. I was thinking about trying to get ANOTHER set from them, but I dunno. Maybe I should just get my money back. Hopefully they'd give it back. If not, I'll get it back one way or another since I didn't get what I paid for. Nowhere on there does it say "half assed wheels painted by a blind retard".

I could buy Glenn's anthracite Shelby's and have them powder coated black. But CJs pony parts website shows black shelbys. I'm gonna call tomorrow and if they actually have them, I'll get them there. If not, I'll figure something out. But under no circumstances am I putting these on my car.

I'm sorry, but I don't want to post pictures. I feel that I will not say anything bad about american muscle untill they give me a reason to, and even though I am badmouthing the product I won't post pictures untill after this is resolved.

Urban there are sooooo many places to search. It's taken me 1.5 yrs and I finally found the set I've been looking for quite by accident, Chrome Enkei's Lf-10's.

It's a lot of $$ for nice rims and they set the tone for the car. Make it a good choice. Agree not to bad mouth them, but you have to be quality. I'm sure they will refund you..but what a PITA to have to ship them back. Take your time, you'll find something you can't live without.

Yeah, that is deep dish black torque thrusts. That's the only wheel I want lol. But since AM discontinued it, unless I find a vendor that still has a set my only option is knockoffs like the ones I got from AM. But AM is the only one I could find that made deep dish FRONT wheels as well...

I thought I liked Razors, but I saw two cars with them on sunday and didn't like them in person. I kinda like Steeda pentar wheels, and the FRPP black Bullits, but neither is deep dish and neither is wide enough for a 285 tire. I like AR Rouges (I think, the ones nasty has) and the wheels Erin has, but they are both only in 20" and I won't go bigger than 18.

Funny you mention that...every freaking rim that I fell in love with..there were 2, were both 20" only and I wasn't going to do 20's. Maybe 3 years from now I may change it all out again. Deep Dish are bad ass...love em.
