I ordered the third brake light decal from American Muscle. The first one I tried to put on, I put on wrong, ripped off and ordered another one. So before I put this one on, I wonder if any of you guys have any tips.

I heard about filing the bottom letters, but if I eventually do take off the decal, will the light looked messed up?

I heard about cutting out a small section so the letters weren't under the decal.

But the hardest part for me is getting it lined up perfectly because these decals are so darn sticky!

So if any of you have done this, please help me out and give me some tips.

If you spray a light, very diluted solution of dish-soap and water on the surface you are applying the decal to, it allows you to slide the decal around a bit to get it perfectly into place. Then you just squeegee any bubbles out with the transfer tape still on, then peel off the tape slowly and carefully from the corner at a 45 degree angle.

You could also try Windex... it allows you to slide the sticker around a little bit so you don't have to sit there holding it the whole time. Then just let it dry.
