Does the Filter on the AM CAI need to be Lubed Out of the Box?

I just purchased an American Muscle CAI (You guys shorted me a rubber fitting! ), Im wondering, do I need to oil the filter or does it come pre-oiled?

Sorry about the mixup with the fitting. Was there any damage to the box from shipping? That's not very common for that to pass QA and ship out without a rubber fitting. I have no problem shipping one out right away if you haven't already sourced something. PM me your order number and I'll get you taken care of if you need one!

As for the filter, these are ready to go right out of the box. You do not need to oil them. They can be cleaned with any K&N recharger kit and then re-oiled. Make sure that you simply mist the oil on with good coverage, as over oiling will actually dirty the throttle body, cover the mass air, etc. It gets messy and can cause unwanted symptoms.

Sitting in a comfy chair and talking to people on the forums about Mustangs all day is a thankless, difficult, exhausting job. Sometimes, I need a little support and/or assistance.

Don't worry, though. I'm not going anywhere any time soon.
